Changing into an accounting career - should I do a Post-Bacc or a Master’s?
I originally have a BA in English Lit and worked in theater for years. I’ve decided to change careers and have just started a Post Bacc program but I’m regretting it a bit. I’m just worried I won’t be hired anywhere once I’m done due to my unusual path.
Last year I got AIPB certified and have been working in bookkeeping at my family’s business. I decided I wanted to go further with my education and applied for this Post-Bacc program. It will take me 2 years and will be 66 credits, but I’m thinking I should have worked on my pre reqs and gone into an MSA program instead to make my resume seem more legitimate. I could still transition into a masters program though.
The end goal is to take my CPA exams ASAP. A masters would be about 8-10k more expensive but will reduce my required work experience time by a year (as compared to 2), would it be worth it?
I am based in New England!
