# "I said, 'Did you like the way it felt?'." - Screenshots from the final seconds of FURIOUS' first season.

Yes, I have watched some of Emmy Rossum's previous work, like in Phantom of the Opera and some of Shameless, but my goodness, this might be her magnum opus.

Her performance is just incredible. It's amazing how so many things come together to create the masterpiece that is her portrayal of Alice Black. Emmy foregone or minimized Botox in the role. She looks every year of 39 and then some, and it allows her to simultaneously be expressive and subtle with her facial movements, while matching the stress of Alice Black's backstory.

It's a credit to the crew around her that her performance is able to shine so brightly. From direction, lighting, sound work, and camera work, they all came together to capture her captivating work and enthrall the viewers. In the final scene, the camera work is brilliant; most of it is her face filling the frame and her looking head-on at the viewer with no distractions in the frame. Incredible choice there.

It's beyond amazing. The character of Alice goes through so many levels and Emmy's right there with all of them, descending, ascending, shifting left and right. I haven't been this blown away by a performance in a long time.

Brava!

It goes without saying at this point, but oh my God, Emmy Rossum's expressions are beyond perfect. Her acting in this series blew me away.
