I have a theory about Ramona Flowers and her dynamic with Gideon Graves

Note: This theory is NOT compatible with the movie or with Scott Pilgrim Strikes Out. My theory ONLY works with the original comics.

There is a part in the graphic novels in which Gideon mentions that Ramona worked for him. There is also another part in the novels in which Envy reproaches Ramona about working under the “seedy underbelly” of a city.

TLDR: My theory is that not NOT did Gideon give Ramona “The Glare” mind control, but I believe that he also hired her and sold her body in some way. Maybe not necessarily as a sex worker, but as some kind of “trophy girlfriend” with escort-like tasks in order to help him connect with other potential business partners.

Brian O’Malley made it subtle AS HELL. But I feel that there was some mistreatment of Ramona sexually, emotionally, AND financially in some way.
