E46 engine swap

Hi everyone,

I have a BMW e46 from 2004 with the 1.8 valvetronic engine . I’m thinking about swapping the engine for a 6 cylinder version . Side note , the 4 cylinder in my car has no issue what so ever , it runs very good . But everyone is saying that the 6 cylinders engines are far more reliable and potent .

Do you think it’s worth the swap? Financially I mean . Or should I sell this one and try to buy a car that already has a 6 cylinder engine by design?

Also , what should be a good swap?

Any advice will be welcomed.
