Two cameras for the same price but different use cases?
So I recently bought a Lumix G1 a few weeks ago and have been using it as my first proper camera. Today i stumbled across a Sony Nex 3 for the same price i got my Lumix for ~90 USD. The question is now that I’ve seen these two for the same exact price, in what exact scenario would switching over make sense, along with that maybe a general discussion on use cases for two different cameras as im new to this entire hobby.
The Lumix G1 came with:
- A 50k~ shutter count (cant check because the on/off switch is broken)
- A micro four thirds to MD/MC mount adapter for vintage lenses
- 28-50mm F3.5mm Vivitar
- 50mm F2.5 Minolta (the one I use the most)
- 200mm F3.5 Rokkor (very heavy)
- Two filters (One is an ND the other might be a UV)
- Battery + Charger that works perfectly
The Nex has the standard kit lens 18-55mm with an unknown shutter count and the flash. Battery was dead so not sure if it works but the shopkeeper assured me it does.
My friends say keep the Lumix, my heart says keep the lumix but the crop factor makes the 50mm a bit hard to use and the 28-50 is not that great. Along with that the city i live in is pretty rubbish for finding old lenses but will try going to other cities to look for lenses. Just because of that im wondering switching to sonys e mount even though its stupid.
Also will put some pictures i took in the comments.
