My idiotic boss laughed at me because i said i trade. because I'm a woman?

Is trading genuinely considered a guy thing? Because I had no idea people still thought like this in 2026

So I was doing my usual work and there were a bunch of guys from my team huddled around talking about trading. They looked like they were fighting for their lives lol. Apparently one of their investments was going south and everyone was getting pissed.

I’ve been trading for around 2 years now, so I walked over and gave my two cents. I told them I’d been doing relatively well and that I started out pretty small and used Sahi when I was learning the basics and it was p easy to get the hang of it. The way they all looked at me??? Like I was an alien or something fr. One of them literally laughed and said something along the lines of “let’s continue this conversation later” with this smug ass smile.

And maybe I’m reading too much into it, but it was VERY obvious that they suddenly didn’t take me seriously once they realised I was a woman. Like come on man. It’s 2026. I know I’m not some trading genius, but I’ve been doing this for 2 years. At least hear me out before deciding I don’t know what I’m talking about because I’m a woman?

Anyway, jokes on them because at least I’m not the one sitting there watching my investment bleed rn 💀 Have any other women here had something similar happen with trading or finance?
