Why we didn’t buy Chalobah for £30m for CB squad depth?

Hi all,

Chelsea sold him to Como for €30m (around £26m), so assuming we paid £4m more than we could’ve got him.

He’s a quality CB for depth and considering 2 out of our 5 CBs are very injury prone and 1 CB (De Light) hasn’t played for nearly a season and we have no idea when he would return and if he would be anywhere near the previous level, why didn’t we buy him.
