MASSDEBAITER is live — 5-minute video debates, fact-checked in real time, scored by an AI judge on five criteria
MASSDEBAITER just launched. Pick a motion, get matched against someone arguing the opposite side, and go five minutes face to face on camera. Everything you say is transcribed, factual claims are checked against public sources, and an AI adjudicator scores both of you out of 100 with written reasoning on how it resolved the key clash.

Two ways to get into a debate
Right now — challenge someone directly
Generate a private link with your chosen motion and your side, send it to anyone, and the debate starts the moment they open it. No queue, no waiting, no account needed. Drop it in a group chat and see who takes the other side — this is the fastest way to get your first round in.
Prime time — matchmaking hours
Want a random opponent? As the platform is new so users are limited please all login at these hours and debate :
| Session | IST | UTC | ET | GMT |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Daily prime time | 9:00 PM | 15:30 | 11:30 AM | 3:30 PM |
Show up in those windows and you'll find people ready to argue. Saturday night is the big one — that's when tournaments run.
Motions live right now
- "AI will create more jobs than it destroys"
- "Social media does more harm than good to society"
- "Nuclear energy is the best path to fighting climate change"
- "Remote work is better than office work"
- "Video games are a net positive for young people"
Or write your own motion — custom topics are fully supported, and your opponent gets matched to the opposing side automatically.
How the judging works
Scored out of 100 across argument quality, evidence & accuracy, rebuttal engagement, clarity & delivery, and conduct, each with a written justification.
Three things built in deliberately:
- Every debate is judged twice with the sides swapped. Language models favour whoever they read first — the verdict only stands if both passes agree, otherwise it's a draw.
- Grammar and vocabulary don't decide it. A plainly worded decisive argument beats fluent filler.
- Fact-checks inform but never dominate. Claims are checked against Wikipedia and news sources, but only count against you if a source actually contradicted them. On opinion motions, factual accuracy is a small fraction of the score — you win by arguing better.
Also in there
- ELO ratings and a seasonal ladder, with protections against rating manipulation
- Tournaments — knockout brackets, plus a cross-side league where every FOR debater faces every AGAINST debater before a grand final
- Live spectating — audiences watch, vote on who's winning, and react in real time
- Forums to organise debates by topic
Worth knowing: finished debates get a public replay page with the full transcript, fact-checks and verdict, indexed by search engines. It's a public record by design — debate accordingly.
Free, and it stays free.
I'd especially welcome feedback on the adjudication — whether verdicts feel fair on opinion motions is the hardest part to get right, and the thing I most want stress-tested by people who actually judge debates.
if there are suggestion please comment, I would love to hear from you people. Thank you.
