👋 Welcome to r/SoftInternet — let’s keep this feed soft
Hey everyone. I’m u/soft-grain-static, a founding moderator of r/SoftInternet.
This is a quieter corner of Reddit for calm posts, kind comments, and interesting things that do not ask you to fight. If the rest of the internet feels loud, this is meant to feel like a softer room.
What to post
Share anything that leaves people lighter than when they arrived:
- A small win, a cozy detail, a kind surprise
- A photo, clip, or story that made you smile
- A gentle recommendation (a book, a walk, a recipe, a tool that just works)
- Quiet humor with no target
Please skip rants, bad news, dunking, outrage politics, and anything posted to shock or scold. If a post needs a heavy warning, it belongs somewhere else.
Community vibe
Friendly, constructive, unhurried. Speak as if the other person is in the room. Jokes are welcome; cruelty is not. We would rather have a small, warm thread than a viral, sharp one.
How to get started
- Say hello in the comments and tell us one ordinary thing that made today nicer.
- Post something today. A simple photo or a short “this was nice” is enough.
- Invite someone who is tired of doomscrolling.
If you would like to help moderate, send me a message. We are looking for people who can keep the room soft without being stern.
Thanks for being in the first wave. Let’s keep r/SoftInternet gentle on purpose.
