Trunks

I typically wear boxer briefs, but I haven't done laundry in a bit, so Ive been wearing some trunks that I own. I find them super uncomfortable now—like super restrictive, more so than briefs. Id assume briefs would be more restrivie, but Ive found trunks to be much more uncomfortable. Does anyone know why?
