Position Classifications
I saw a thread about how much he depth chart often has LEDG playing REDG and vice versa or RG playing LG and it got me thinking...
I wish they would just have position classifications that are separate from depth chart and it will solve so many problems because if I change an agile RG to LG and it switches their archetype to it penalizes their skillcaps (I believe, I could be wrong though)
OT, OG, C (or just IOL) for the offensive line
EDGE Rushers and On Ball Linebackers
Interior defensive line
Off ball line backers
Corners
Safeties
(Or just DBs)
Then I can put my edge Rushers on the edge or on the ball in 3-4 but also have my off ball backers set for 4-3 and could really lean into specializing roles for different sets.
Hell, make Gadget players their own classes as well so I can just drop them into various positions in the depth chart. You could maybe even do something like that with Athletes. You could limit their skills until you classify them to a specific position, but then you could move them around as a freshman and/or sophomore instead of picking their position right after recruiting ends.
You can still have LEDG and REDG or LG and RG in the depth chart itself but if the position classifications where less restrictive I feel like it could add so much potential. They already do this in the recruiting portal to a certain extent with the lineman and line backers since they have you recruit all tackles, all guards, and all edge Rushers in one category now.
Anyways, I just think there could be benefits from roster building to utilization of your entire roster, to immersion if they considered something like this.
