Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE), a National Centre of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research under the Department of Atomic Energy, has opened one permanent Scientific Assistant (B) seat in its Mathematics Olympiad Cell at Mankhurd, Mumbai. Advertisement No. 03/2026 is reserved entirely for EWS. Online applications close on 19 September 2026 at 23:00 hrs.

This is not a generic lab-assistant vacancy. The selected candidate will design materials and teach at mathematics teacher-training camps and national olympiad workshops across India, and write olympiad problems for books and journals. HBCSE is the nodal centre for India’s science and mathematics olympiad programme.

If you hold a full-time B.Sc. in Mathematics or Computer Science with 60% marks (or equivalent CGPA), can use a personal computer, and have 0–2 years of teaching experience in those subjects, this is a rare regular TIFR-cadre opening in science education. Apply only through the HBCSE online application portal.
