Are membrane buttons any better than a touchscreen on an oven?

What to Buy?

My oven has been broken for a few months and I've been using my little air fryer to hold the fort down. I want to get a new oven making use of the labor day sales but Ive seen videos of people opening an oven and the steam coming out and the screen going wild. I also read in the comment with repair techs saying touch screen sucks and they're expensive to have repaired. I'd rather not have to deal with software or electronic issues like that but when I look for ovens most all of the ovens in my price range is some sort of touch screen, theres a few membrane button ones and 1 or 2 knob ones from a brand I dont really know or trust. Its only when I start looking at the $3,000+ oven are there ones with knobs I would want. I'm wondering if I should compromise and get an oven with a membrane buttons. My old oven was a GE that was membrane controlled but the temp was controlled with a knob and that lasted me 23 years, it was a capacitor inside that blew up and messed up the board that I cannot repair or replace since they don't offer replacement boards and the ones I find are priced where its better to get a new oven.
