How come Allah prays to himself?
In order to make sense of what i will say, we need to set a basis for who “Allah” is of infinite capability and no partners, where the central teachings is known as “Tawhid” the absolute oneness of God, no rivals, no helpers or equals.
But, in Surah Al-Baqarah (2:157)
Arabic: أُولَٰئِكَ عَلَيْهِم****ْ صَلَوَاتٌ مِنْ رَبِّهِمْ وَرَحْمَةٌ ۖ وَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْمُهْتَدُونَ
Transliteration: Ula'ika 'alayhim salawatun min rabbihim* *wa rahmah, wa ula'ika humu al-muhtadun.
“salawatun min rabbihim wa rahmah” means the plural of prayers from your God, and his mercy. Well, how can “Allah” pray, and who is he praying to? How can this be so?
To further reinforce my claim, Surah Al-Azhab (33:43)
Arabic: هُوَ ٱلَّذِي**** يُصَلِّي عَلَيۡكُمۡ وَمَلَٰٓئِكَتُهُۥ لِيُخۡرِجَكُم مِّنَ ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِ إِلَى ٱلنُّورِۚ وَكَانَ بِٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ رَحِيمٗا
Transliteration: "Huwal lazee yusallee 'alaikum wa malaaa'ikatuhoo liyukhrijakum minazzulumaati ilan-noor wa kaana bilmu'mineena Raheemaa."
“yusallee ‘alaikum” means “Allah” is the one who prays for you and his angels, so why is Allah praying to himself for you and his angels? Who is he praying to, again?
And, to conclude, what makes it funnier is when you say the prophets name “Mohammed” you always add a respectful note of “Salah Allah Alayhee Wa Salam” meaning Allah’s prayers be on Mohammed?
Quite funny to catch this. Thoughts?
