Jersey City Weekly Roundup Sept 2–6 | Salsa, Bachata, Dominoes, Reading Party & More
🚨 JERSEY CITY WEEKLY ROUNDUP 🚨
SEPTEMBER 2–6, 2026
Hey Jersey City,
A little late getting this one up this week, so I’m starting with Wednesday instead of making everyone scroll past Monday and Tuesday events that already happened.
Still a pretty good Labor Day weekend ahead: salsa on the waterfront, Dominican bachata, dominoes, a reading party, a farmers market, a ladies-night social and some smaller community stuff.
I added a quick description under everything again so you can tell what it actually is before opening the link.
Event names are clickable and go to the official organizer/ticket page whenever available.
WEDNESDAY · SEPTEMBER 2
Hamilton Park Farmers Market — Hamilton Park, 9 McWilliams Pl. (4–7 PM)
Midweek market with Stony Hill Farm produce, seafood, prepared food and other local/specialty vendors.
Easy stop after work if you’re already downtown.
THURSDAY · SEPTEMBER 3
Martinis + Fries at IKOS — IKOS, Jersey City (6–8 PM, Free registration)
Ladies night hosted by Rose + Key Club. IKOS is offering complimentary martinis, Greek salad and truffle fries for women during the event.
This one is specifically designed for meeting other people rather than just showing up and standing around at a bar.
FRIDAY · SEPTEMBER 4
Free Style Fridays — Recovery Junction, 35 Journal Square Plaza #500 (12–4 PM, Free)
Games, activities and community time at Recovery Junction.
Definitely more niche than the weekend events below, but worth including for anyone looking for a substance-free community space.
SATURDAY · SEPTEMBER 5
Saturday is easily the busiest day this week.
🔥 5th Annual Salsa at Grundy Park — J. Owen Grundy Pier / Exchange Place (1–7 PM, Free)
Probably my favorite free pick of the week.
There’s a Zumba class at 2 PM, followed by live music from Richie Gonzalez & The Copacabana All-Stars at 3 PM, all right on the waterfront.
End of Summer Reading Party — Van Vorst Park, 257 Montgomery St. (2–5 PM, Free)
Reading Rhythms + Jersey City Free Public Library are doing a social reading afternoon in the park.
Bring whatever book you’re reading. They mix quiet reading periods with one-on-one conversations and group discussion, so it’s actually a pretty good low-pressure way to meet people.
Dominoes Day — La Bodega Latin Cuisine, 407 Palisade Ave. (5–9 PM, Ticketed)
Dominoes, music, food, prizes, raffles and BYOB.
You can bring a partner or come solo, and the organizers are pretty explicitly building this around meeting people and supporting a local Jersey City spot.
🔥 Teodoro Reyes Live — The Factory Rest & Lounge, 451 Communipaw Ave. (9 PM, $55.12 GA / $65.72 VIP)
Big one for the Dominican/bachata crowd.
Teodoro Reyes is bringing traditional Dominican bachata to The Factory for a Labor Day weekend night, with DJ Killa + DJ 3 also listed.
SUNDAY · SEPTEMBER 6
Sunday is pretty light from the Jersey City sources I checked.
Rather than throw random brunches or generic bar listings in here just to fill the day, I’m leaving it open.
If you know something good happening Sunday, drop it below.

DID I MISS SOMETHING?
Drop it in the comments.
Especially looking for block parties, neighborhood events, DJs, comedy, live music, salsa/bachata/reggaetón, sports or watch parties, markets, pop-ups, volunteer opportunities and recurring meetups that don’t always make it onto the city calendar.
This isn’t supposed to be every single event happening in Jersey City.
The idea is to give everyone a decent starting point for the week, and then people who actually live here can add whatever I missed.
And keep correcting me if a link/time is off — people catching things in previous posts has genuinely helped make these better.
For transparency: I help build YourScene, a local events app.
Part of why I started doing these is because finding local stuff still means checking a ridiculous number of separate venue, city and organizer calendars.
