Starlink Mini stuck at Clark Customs for 2 months because of NTC Type Approval Certificate. What do I do?
Hi everyone, I’m hoping someone here has dealt with a similar situation and can help me out.
My Starlink Mini package has been stuck at Clark Customs for almost 2 months now. It was sent to me as a gift from my client abroad, and until now, I still haven’t been able to receive it.
Customs is asking me to provide an NTC Type Approval Certificate before I can get the Permit to Import, which is required to have my package released.
I contacted NTC, and they told me that the Starlink Mini is already type-approved. However, I still need to obtain the actual Type Approval Certificate. Once I have that certificate, NTC can issue the Permit to Import.
The biggest problem is that I’m around 12 hours away from NTC Main, so traveling there just to ask in person, only to potentially be told that I need to go somewhere else or submit something else, would be extremely difficult.
Has anyone here successfully imported a Starlink Mini into the Philippines and gone through the NTC/Customs process?
If so:
- How did you obtain the NTC Type Approval Certificate?
- Is there an online process for requesting it?
- Did you need to personally go to NTC Main?
- If the Starlink Mini is already type-approved, what document can I request or submit to prove this?
- Is there a specific NTC office or department that handles Type Approval Certificates?
I would really appreciate any advice or leads. I just want to get this package released after waiting for almost two months. 😭
TL;DR: My Starlink Mini has been stuck at Clark Customs for 2 months. Customs requires an NTC Type Approval Certificate before I can get the Permit to Import. NTC told me the Starlink Mini is already type-approved, but I still need the certificate. I live 12 hours away from NTC Main and don't want to travel there without knowing exactly what I need to do. Has anyone gone through this process?
