Measuring features on a 1/4” diameter sphere with sj-410

Hello! I’m fairly new to this machine and I’m trying to follow a Tribology paper on wear scar analysis. I have a 1/4” sphere that I put in a holder so only the top is exposed. I am trying to measure the top of the sphere (about 0.6mm) When I try to use my profilometer it says the measurement is out of range. I’ve tried to adjust the length of the measurement (lambda c) but I haven’t had much luck. According to the paper it should be possible to do this. Does anyone have any experience or have any resources that might be helpful? Thank you :D
