C-section scheduling
!Hi ! I’m 36weeks 6days FTM and my delivering hospital’s internet is down. Cybersecurity incident has left them without an internet infrastructure since Monday and I’m losing my mind. Baby is breeched, and at my last appointment I was to be scheduled for a c-section (September 17th!!) and was told it would take a week for it to be verified and updated in their system…well 3 days later their whole system crashed out and I have no access to my chart and the hospital is diverting EMS to other hospitals because they’re down to pen and paper. I’m seeing rumors online it could take over a week to get things back up and running and I feel like I’m running out of time.!<
I have my 37 week appointment tomorrow, but I’m feeling really despondent about my c-section as it all feels down to the wire. Even if I bring up my scheduling concerns there’s nothing they can do until their systems are up and running again. I’m not sure if I should ask to deliver at another hospital that’s further away or hope that I’ll take priority once they get things up and running. At this point I’m praying I go into labor early so that I can just show up and let them know I need a c-section and get it over with.
Since this is my first pregnancy I have no idea what to expect out of a scheduled c-section, as all of my friends gave birth vaginally. I know their Internet going down is pretty unpredictable but I was so relieved to have a date picked out and now I don’t even know what’s happening. The doctor I’m seeing tomorrow is not my delivering doctor, so I can’t even ask her if she knows her own schedule.
