I'm an amateur hobbyist artist who's also currently on a job search, I can estimate that I'm going to be moving around a lot in the future, I need a portable solution for my independent art freelance and job hunting. I already have a steam deck, which covers my gaming needs. However, a laptop capable of switching display would be incredible for playing the steam deck docked. My budget right now is £300, however I'm happy to take recommendations above this price point as long as it doesn't exceed £1000 due to that being unrealistic for me time-wise. Open to buying both used and unused. I prefer to use Linux as I'm now quite used to SteamOS, I'm new to laptops so I'm not sure if reinstalling/changing the operating system is as easy as a desktop.

I own the XP-Pen artist 12 (2nd Gen), which has been struggling to agree with me driver-wise on the steam deck without me needing to change folder permissions and potentially endanger my system.
