MW4 Beta Feedback - Huge potential to make a great Modern Warfare Game [6v6 MP only]

Feedback

After two weekends, I’m somewhere in the middle. I didn’t leave the beta feeling particularly negative, but I wasn’t blown away either. There’s a lot here that Infinity Ward absolutely nailed, but 6v6 still needs work.

What worked:

Visually, the game is stunning. This is Infinity Ward at its best.

The animations are top tier. Weapons have weight, detail and personality in a way IW consistently does better than anyone else.

Operators actually have personality again.
Best Play cam is an incredible addition and I hope it stays.

Overall presentation feels premium and unmistakably IW.

Where 6v6 needs work:

Revert the TTK. Combined with the faster movement, Weekend 2 started feeling too much like Black Ops. Gunfights became longer without necessarily becoming more interesting.

Give the maps room to breathe. More space, verticality, longer sightlines and alternative routes.

Stop artificially forcing engagements. Too many maps feel designed to constantly funnel players back into predetermined corridors and lanes.
Look back at MW19 and MWII. Those maps weren’t perfect, but many felt like actual places rather than multiplayer arenas. Their size, verticality and complexity created organic engagements and allowed aggressive, defensive and tactical playstyles to coexist.

SBMM/EOMM remains awful. Some matches feel less like organic multiplayer and more like the matchmaking system has already decided what kind of experience you’re going to have.

My biggest hope before launch is that IW re-evaluates what makes Modern Warfare its own branch of Call of Duty and leans into it.

Modern Warfare doesn’t need to out-Black-Ops Black Ops. Infinity Ward has always been at its best when it builds the game it wants to build.

There’s a great Modern Warfare game somewhere in this beta. I just want IW to let it breathe.
