One of the main reasons being close to my son doesn't feel weird, is I had a similar situation with my dad.

I'm a single mom raising my son alone. With it just being us two at home we've grown quite close and I started seeing him in ways not all parents would. But to me, I haven't saw it as weird or wrong. But that's probably cause I've been in that situation. I was raised alone by my dad, so I know what it's like to grow up just me and dad. The closeness it causes. Those were good times as a daughter
