MIL keeps telling baby is always cold

Vent

I swear I am going to lose my fucking mind because she is always saying my baby is cold. She has been saying this from the very beginning, and she is absolutely relentless about it. She keeps insisting that we bundle her up in extra layers, and every time she holds her, she wraps her in that fur blanket and says, “She’s cold.” I have heard this a zillion times second only to “I think she’s hungry.” Even when I take my baby for a stroll outside, she insists we wrap her in VERY warm clothing and hats, socks and fur blanket. For God’s sake, I’m going to bang my head against a wall if I hear it one more time.
A few days ago, my baby was napping with my MIL while I was doing something else. I went into her room to pick her up for her next feed, and she was wearing regular clothes, wrapped in a swaddle, covered with a fur blanket, AND had two towels on top because my MIL couldn’t find any extra blankets. This was in early August, in Toronto, when it was fucking hot. I was absolutely shocked. My baby’s skin was literally hot to the touch, so I immediately unwrapped her as fast as I could.
She’s almost six weeks old now and going through that extremely fussy, crying phase, so she cried basically all night last night. My MIL heard her and held her for about 30 minutes while I pumped. And, of course, she kept saying she felt like the baby was cold because I had a tower fan running in my room which wasn’t even blowing directly on her. I explained that she wasn’t cold and that the fan wasn’t pointed at her. I keep it on simply for air circulation.
But this morning, she told my husband AGAIN that she thinks the baby was cold. Husband told me to ignore her. She doesn’t even let me give my baby a bath before bed at night because she thinks baby will catch cold.
And what makes this even more ridiculous is that my MIL is from Mumbai, where it’s hot basically all the time. She was literally wearing a fall jacket in July during peak summer here.
I genuinely want to fucking scream. I can’t hear “the baby is cold” one more time. 😭
