Letter of resignation to my BOE
I have been PIMQ for over a decade and PIMO for about a year. Always been afraid of devastating my PIMI spouse, but not sure I can continue to live a lie. Wanted to share what I plan to send to the body. Would love your thoughts and ask you to share with me your strength. Honestly terrified on my end. I chose not to go daggers out despite knowing full and well this is not a spirit directed organization. In time, I am sure I will share the true Truth with those I know who may awakening themselves. Not sure when I will send this, but I feel the day is coming very soon:
Brothers, I need to share something difficult. For a long time, I have been struggling internally with my mental health, with prayer, and with my belief in God. I’ve spent countless hours trying to regain faith through deep study, prayer and meditation, but I’ve reached a point where I must acknowledge that I no longer believe.
I want you to know this isn’t because of any sin or wrongdoing. I’ve tried to live uprightly and give everything I could theocratically, but I’ve been unhappy for years despite those efforts.
Because of that, I feel it’s only fair and honest to step down as an elder. I don’t want to serve in a capacity that requires faith I no longer have.
I care for each of you and hold no resentment. You’re sincere men, and I’m grateful for the time we’ve served together. I’ll continue supporting my wife and living morally.
Thank you for understanding.
