How are South Africans supposed to stay afloat with all the prices going up?

Lately I've been feeling like just buying a loaf of bread and some eggs feels like its breaking the bank account. And now with the rise of petrol prices again, how do South Africans do it? I earn an average amount yet feel like even if I earned double it still wouldn't be enough. Am I the only one who feels like the cost of living has just gotten extremely bad?
