Wouldn’t budge on price

Checked out a used 2011 Honda Odyssey with 87k miles. I did fluid checks, tail pipe check and so on. Did a test drive and listened for suspension sounds and so on. Returned to the used car lot and they asked if I wanted to go in for the numbers. Sure.

The ad shows $12,810.
The OTD they gave me was $15,850!!!

Wow $3000 extra. I asked for the break down. $999 for a GPS device to track the vehicle. I said I can get an Apple AirTag for $25 and track it. I should have said “oh cool can I see it work!!??” Then another $499 for VIN etching. The mandatory fees were there too. I said I can do $12,500 OTD.

Then the manager comes in and says all this stuff about margins and markup and can’t do this and that and said the same price. $15,850. I said I can’t do that and he said ok thanks for coming or something like that and we left.

Didn’t seem interested in selling me the car. At the start in the office I said I’d like to take it for inspection. The sales person had to check with management about it. I could hear them talking and it sounded like he didn’t understand why I want to do such a thing but then they said no problem.

I suspect I was a problem to them versus an easy sale.
