Where do superheroes (and villains!) keep all their old, retired costumes?

Setting aside the obvious answers like Batman’s cave displays and Iron Man’s armor vaults, how does the rest of the comic book world handle wardrobe storage?

Throughout different eras, almost every major Marvel and DC character has cycled through dozens of costume redesigns. Have the comics ever explicitly shown where characters with normal houses or apartments keep their old super-suits? Do they throw them away, burn them, or just stuff them in the attic?

Curious if there is any established lore on this for both heroes and villains
