Upgrade Old Laptop or Buy new?

I have an older Acer Nitro laptop that is in pretty good condition however it’s at the point where the HDD is CONSTANTLY at 100% utilization and it’s just slow and unusable.

It has the option to upgrade to an NVME drive, and even an upgradable RAM.

Would it be worth it to upgrade the Laptop or just go for a new purchase? The upgrades are dirt cheap with DDR4-Laptop memory and the NVME is a massive performance boost for about $110.

New builds and the RAM crisis make me concerned there isn’t gonna be a better option. Especially when it comes to price to performance.
