This week’s Watchtower has a very clear map:

**Pay attention.**
Then:
**Jehovah speaks through Scripture.**
Then:
**Jehovah speaks at our meetings.**
Then:
**Listening means obeying.**
Then:
**Love for Jehovah should make you listen.**
Then:
**Love for people should make you listen.**
Then:
**Your life depends on listening.**
Then:
**The meeting material is manna from Jehovah.**
Then:
**If the faithful slave decided to repeat it, it must be spiritual food “at the proper time.”**
And finally:
**Apply the guidance you receive at congregation meetings, and Jehovah will lead you to everlasting life.**
That progression matters.

By the end, the **missing premise** has disappeared.
Not because they proved it or anything like that. They just repeated it until it stopped sounding like something that needed proof.

The missing premise is:
**The Governing Body’s interpretation and application of Scripture accurately carries Jehovah’s voice.**

And Watchtower also admits the Governing Body is **“neither inspired nor infallible”** and can **“err in doctrinal matters or in organizational direction.”**

So hold one current teaching still. Or step back a few years and think storing your own blood, toasting, beards, or counting ministry hours.

Call it **T**.
**P1.** If T is really Jehovah’s guidance, then T accurately communicates Jehovah’s will.
**P2.** The Governing Body can teach T and be wrong about T.
**P3.** Members are still told to receive current Governing Body direction as Jehovah’s guidance.

Now **suppose T turns out to be wrong**. There are only two places to go.

**Option A:** Jehovah guided them into T.
Then Jehovah guided his people into religious error while they were being told it was his will.

Or:

**Option B:** Jehovah did not guide them into T.

Then something presented to members as **Jehovah’s guidance** was actually the mistaken judgment of fallible men.

Pick one.

Because “the brothers are imperfect” does not solve the problem. It *creates* it.

If imperfect men can give mistaken instruction while members are being told to treat that instruction as Jehovah’s direction, then the member needs some way to tell the difference between:
**Jehovah’s guidance** and **the current interpretation of imperfect men.**

And the test has to work **before** the correction comes out. Not after the Governing Body Update. Not after the old teaching lands under *Beliefs Clarified w*hile you are sitting in the Kingdom Hall being told to obey it.

So what is the test?
That is **the question Watchtower never answers.**
They have actually asked the question themselves—
**“Is this really coming from Jehovah, or are the responsible brothers acting on their own?”**
Their answer is not a test.
It is basically:
**This is not the time to second-guess. Learn to trust the direction now.**
