Seeking tips for obtaining artifacts in the mine

I’ve googled but the only threads i find are kind of old and i’m not sure what’s changed since 1.0.

I’m the type of player who wants to get all fish/bugs/artifacts before moving on to the next biomes! But i’m losing my mind grinding the artifacts.

I’ve tried reloading saves and archeology perks. I’ve been at this so long i’ve maxed out mining, fighting and archeology but for some reason cannot obtain Crab statue and Rock statue. (Tide and Deep Earth biome)

Am I very unlucky, doing something wrong, or is this really just THAT tedious??

My strat is basically get perks, look for dig spots, break every rock. Reload at the end of day.
