Adventures in Charging
Also wanted to share my travel experience (and range paranoia). In order to get my vehicle repaired I've had to stray outside my home range. I have had my Ariya for over a year and this has been my first experiences with charging away from home. First trip to the remote dealer went fine there is a Tesla charger bank about 4 miles from the dealer and I was able to add miles/KW on two occasions with no issues. Yesterday while returning from second trip I get to the Tesla bank and pull in, connect up, and start charging without issue. My car ticking slowly up, gets to 68% and I get "Charger connection lost" error in the Tesla app. And car stops charging. I google it, says to disconnect, reseat cable, reseat CCS/NACS adapter, let the charger resynch and try again. At this point I discover my adapter is locked on my car. Panic ensues as I cannot seem to unhook. Get back in, google that, wasn't aware of the locking mechanism, finally free adapter. At this point the Tesla charger shows offline in the app, and I am a little shaken. Decision Point, I might have enough charge to get home but it would be close. I know of another Tesla bank about 50 miles in homeward direction. So decide to head there. Able to get there add addition miles/KW with no isdues, get home ok. Just a frustrating experience. And my Range anxiety is very real when I have so few options out here in the EV wastes.
