ITR2 is far too difficult to be enjoyable

ITR2 (atleast for quest) is so unfathomably hard once you reach a certain point in the game where it’s seriously just not fun to play anymore. i think ITR2 has potential to be an enjoyable game but it’s seriously just far to difficult. i know there are people who like a challenge in games and i am one of those people, i like a hard game but ITR2 is going at it the wrong way.
i’ve had the game on quest literally since the day it released and it used to be a great game and i would have a great time playing it but ever since the 1.0 update dropped for the quest version its so unnecessarily difficult. im stuck on security level 3 right now because once you reach the forest the game goes from “hey, i think this game is gonna be pretty good” to “PLEASE JUST LET ME REFUND THIS GAME” it’s not a fun experience.
the main issue with the game is the number of enemies it spawns, difficulty options just not working, and the resources the game provides to you.
The game spawns an unreal amount of enemies, even on the lowest difficulty. i get that they’re supposed to be a threat but the thing is that there’s a new “threat” around every corner. i cannot go 2 seconds without being ambushed by 20 mimics on the other side of the map sniping me and eventually dying 2 seconds later without knowing what the heck just happened. the very few times you know where you’re getting shot at you can’t even fight back because the weapons in this game are just so bad.
ive tried countless times to make the game enjoyable by adjusting the difficulty but the difficulty options just flat out don’t work. i could set “damage from enemies” from normal to low and they will still do the game amount of damage and i just keep dying to the same 20 mimics in one house over and over and over again.
i’m really frustrated i made with my purchase 2 years ago because i had really high hopes from this game and i was hoping i could enjoy it just as much as i did the first game but unfortunately i couldn’t. i’m really disappointed with the product i haven’t been able to even use to the full potential because the game has not let me use it.
