Hi, I'm trying to dual boot Omarchy 4 (Quattro) with Windows on the same NVMe SSD.

I installed Omarchy using the Free Space Install option. The installation appears to be successful, but after removing the USB and rebooting, the system always boots directly into Windows.

I checked the partitions from the Omarchy/Arch ISO

/dev/nvme0n1p1  vfat FAT32       → Windows EFI

/dev/nvme0n1p3  ntfs             → Windows

/dev/nvme0n1p4  ntfs             → Windows/recovery

/dev/nvme0n1p5  vfat FAT32       → OMARCHY\_EFI

/dev/nvme0n1p6  crypto\_LUKS      → Omarchy Linux

I mounted the Omarchy EFI partition:

mkdir -p /mnt/omarchy-efi

mount /dev/nvme0n1p5 /mnt/omarchy-efi

and verified that Limine is actually installed:

/mnt/omarchy-efi/EFI/limine/limine\_x64.efi

/mnt/omarchy-efi/EFI/Linux/omarchy\_linux.efi

/mnt/omarchy-efi/limine.conf

So the Omarchy installation and Limine files appear to be present.

Initially, efibootmgr -v did not show a Limine entry, so I manually created one:

efibootmgr -c -d /dev/nvme0n1 -p 5 -L "Omarchy Limine" -l '\\EFI\\limine\\limine\_x64.efi'

I removed an accidentally created incorrect entry and now efibootmgr -v shows:

BootOrder: 0004,0000,0001,0002

Boot0000\* Windows Boot Manager

Boot0001\* UEFI OS

Boot0002\* UEFI: USB

Boot0004\* Omarchy Limine

Boot0004 points to:

\\EFI\\limine\\limine\_x64.efi

So Limine is first in the UEFI BootOrder, but the system still boots Windows.

One interesting thing is that my BIOS has a separate option called:

UEFI Hard Disk Drive BBS Priorities

The normal BIOS boot menu doesn't show "Omarchy" or "Limine". There is also an old UEFI OS entry associated with another HDD, which isn't where Omarchy is installed.

What I've tried

Reinstalled Omarchy using Free Space Install

Verified the Omarchy EFI partition exists

Verified limine\_x64.efi exists

Created the Limine UEFI NVRAM entry manually

Set Limine as the first BootOrder entry

Removed the incorrect old Limine entry

I don't want to reinstall again or modify/delete the Windows EFI partition, since both Windows and Omarchy files appear to be intact.

Question

Could the UEFI Hard Disk Drive BBS Priorities be overriding the efibootmgr BootOrder?

Would the correct next step be to put the NVMe drive containing the Omarchy EFI partition first in the BBS priority?

Also, would testing this with:

efibootmgr -n 0004

be a safe way to confirm whether the firmware can actually boot the Limine entry?

Any advice from someone familiar with Omarchy/Limine and BBS priorities would be appreciated.
