How can consumers and DTE just ask a commission(that is apparently designed to prevent what’s already happening)to raise prices by xx% each year?

You can see this on your bills. I can already hardly cover their peak pay BS which I can’t believe is legal.

On June 2, 2026, we asked the Michigan Public Service Commission to approve new electric rates. If approved, the average home will see an estimated monthly increase of $13 (9%) and businesses will see an estimated monthly increase of $39 (8.6%) starting in May 2027.
