mk7 change pcv valve y/n?

tldr: i think my pcv valve went bad but im also not 100% sure

longer: i have a 2015 gti 108k miles and it burns oil like every other gti. but it started feeling ridiculous so i tracked it and its about a quart or so every 1200 miles which i heard is technically in spec but i feel like this oil light is coming on like once a month which feels a bit excessive. i remembered when changing my spark plugs they looked noticeably blackened and a bit oily and assumed if it was a head gasket issue or something that serious it would make itself evident and I would take it from there because I was on a Starbucks salary -- that was about a year ago, and I also think if it was that serious, at this oil burn rate shouldn't my exhaust tips show very obvious signs? There's oil on the sides of my oil cap, I tried the oil cap test and wasn't convinced. No lights or anything other than the check oil level light when it's low, lmk if you have similar experience or any advice but I'm thinking of going and changing the pcv and oil cap atp?
