Identity crisis

Experience

Fair warning, this is going to be a bit of a ramble....

I feel like I'm losing my mind a little bit. I'm down 17kg which is great, health is getting better and generally I love it and feel good, except....

I don't know what to wear anymore. My body shape has changed so much (but also kind of hasn't?!) my boobs are smaller, my legs are stupid skinny (comparatively) but my stomach still feels massive to me. I've gone from a UK size 20/22 to a fricking 12 on top, and a 16 for bottoms.

I've always been gothy/alternative and I love the spooky and grungy style that I've curated over the years, but all of a sudden..... regular clothes in regular shops fit me, and I don't really know what to do with that. My old clothes, a lifetime of being plus sized and hunting down the weird and wonderful, they no longer fit me. I've bought things that I vaguely like because I need things that fit, but they don't "fit" my style as much. I really feel like I've actually lost a fair chunk of my identity and I don't know how to handle that. I've been big since I was a teenager and I'm 41 now!

And all of this has kicked off because I'm going to an amusement park tomorrow and I can't for the life of me pick an outfit. How does anyone decide anything when suddenly everything fits and your options are unlimited?!

Can anyone relate? Have you been, or are you going through the same thing? Do I just need to go on a massive shopping trip to Camden to re-discover my inner goth? Heeelllllpppppp.
