Just showing up?

Any resort area, national parks hiring this winter out west where I could just show up and land an available opening? I live on the east coast and I find that I get ghosted by hiring managers because I am to far away and they want candidates that are closer not that the labor market is getting a lot tighter and they have more options and don't want to take a long bet that I won't make the drive out.
