Happy Teachers’ Day to the people who taught us how to think, not just what to learn. 🎓

In cybersecurity, some of the most valuable lessons rarely come from a textbook.

A teacher might have been the person who first taught you to:

Question assumptions
Break a problem into smaller pieces
Keep digging when the first answer looks right
Learn from failure instead of hiding it
Stay curious when technology keeps changing

And somewhere along the way, those lessons become the foundation of how we approach a suspicious log, investigate an incident, solve a CTF, troubleshoot a network, or prepare for a difficult interview.

So today, I want to ask the cybersecurity community:

Who was the teacher who had the biggest impact on your career?

It could be a school/college teacher, a professor, a manager, a mentor, a YouTube creator, a colleague - or even someone who taught you one lesson at exactly the right time.

What is the one lesson from them that you still use today?

I'll go first:

Happy Teachers’ Day! 🙏
