Am I In The Wrong for wanting to send an angry message?
Hi! So I am 16F "R" and we'll call my 16F ex friend M. We'll call her current bf Mo, her ex besties P and H, the three people she used academically (other than me) D, L, SS, and S. We are juniors right now, whereas H and P are seniors.
M and I met when we were in 8th grade in the middle of year. She was new and had just moved from India. I was her first friend in the group which would be formed (we only knew D at the time). She and I were very close, especially since we lived in the same neighborhood and spoke the same language. When I moved houses in like 2-3 months of our friendship, my house was right across hers. She would be there for me when we would gossip and have fun talk, this mattered a lot since D was an old friend of mine who had many other friends and would only speak about academics (she also was in a neighborhood 10 minutes away by car).
We met SS on the first day of freshman year (also the same neighborhood), so the three of us were literally a trio and like sisters already. At this time, I would notice M pestering me for telling her what to study for in biology tests the period before she had hers, literally begging me and not taking a no for an answer (I assumed I owed her help since she would help me in AP Human Geography too).
Then the summer before sophomore year was when two things happened 1) we met L, P, and H and 2) I had confessed to my crush and I started dating him (he's now an ex). M would always hate him and mock him in the language we spoke, always liking my previous crush (who's never been a bf) for not wanting to date and was actually a smarter student in comparison to my ex who not only dated but also did very bad academically. Also, her pestering for help would continue except this time around she would hang out with H and P way more than anyone and she would seem pissed if I didn't have the homework (she would ask for chemistry and algebra 2 help, but we both had them alternate days so I wouldn't bring the course material on the days she had it).
I used to blame myself since I did neglect a few friends when I was with my ex, but then I noticed she wouldn't even acknowledge me. LIke if I was at the bus stop and I saw her there I would wave and say hi but she wouldn't even response. She would only talk or text me if she ever needed me, like if she wanted help on an algebra project she would call me and frantically text. I eventually just bottled in my feelings since I assumed I would be blamed or people would think I'm overreacting.
I would also notice her using L for chemistry, S for algebra (and later would frantically beg her to help her in AP world the day before the exam), and D for anything else. For example, once we had a poetry project and M had English class just before lunch (after lunch English class would resume), and she brought her poem guideline and made D write it out using those guidelines, refusing to help even when D asked for a couple of rhying words; she literally just said "I don't know" and continued talking with other classmates. Also, my ex and I were still in contact and he told me his friend Mo liked M. I told M that with H with us just in case Mo tried doing anything to embarras her or took advantage since I figured they were friends at the time. M just said so what and interrogated about how I knew so I said my ex did. She just rolled her eyes and said whatever and then went back to talking with H (not responding to me saying bye so I just went home alone).
Once the year ended I knew I couldn't make another year of bottling all this up since I knew if I exploded it would be too much to clean up, so I decided to send her a long message of how I felt and she began with assuming I meant she was neglecting me during the summer and I emphasized I meant the school year, she then said she treated everyone that way (except H and P) but eventually as I revealed how hurt I felt since we were CLOSER, then she apologized and begged me for forgiveness, even saying she'll do everything I said. I had sent her this message three days before I went to India for vacation. She finally asked if we could meet up and I said no I was busy that day and the next since I wanted to process it and I was already taking a walk so if anything made me upset, music could soothe that emotion. The next day I was with D (spontaneously) and D said she and M were gonna meet up so M was gonna join us too. I let M know sorry my plans had changed so I would be coming. M wasn't home when we knocked so we looked at the usual place she might be but she wasn't there. We called her mom and her mom asked to check at home again but she wasn't there too. Eventually we gave up since it was already dark too and I messaged M that so she doesn't feel upset if she finds out we didn't check back at home.
Then a month later when I was in India on friendship day I noticed M wasn't in the group chat anymore so asked that but no one seemed to care when they texted yeah she isn't except D. D told me that apparently M was seeing Mo the day we went to meet up with her, and M's mom caught the two. M may have panicked and said D, P, and H allowed me to date him and so M's mom decided to cut off those friends. Additionally, M is continuing to see Mo That would have been the least of it but when H confronted her for choosing love over friendship M just said there was no friendship. She has apologized to D but she didn't say sorry to H and even called H a bulldog.
But the biggest deal breaker for all this time is: M hasn't even tried speaking to me all of this year, our biggest interaction was a smile she gave me while getting on the bus. She hasn't sent a single message or given a better acknowledgement. As a result I feel worse since I poured out how I felt and yet I get no acknowledgement, not even a single word said not even an attempt of her trying to rekindle everything like she said on text. The problem is though even if she apologized again I wouldn't be able to forgive her since I don't know if she would do it since she needs help from me or if she means it. But at least it would show she's trying to reach me, that I'm wanted by her rather than the constant me trying to chase her from last year. Something in me just wants to send her an angry message but since 1) D and her have reconciled a bit I don't know how it'll end (I can't lose D) and 2) I'm worried if she tries confronting me with that face to face, I wouldn't know how to response (I am bad at confrontation face to face). But anyways am I in the wrong if I decided to send an angry message about her not even trying to reconcile with me despite being told she screwed up and actually seeming sorry via text. Also, if any kind soul would, can any of you send me some ideas of what I could send? Thanks :)
