If you're considering Eufy for your Home Assistant setup, think twice, no, make it three times. Eufy promised a lot, so I did way too much research from different sources, not just the typical YouTube review, and I went for it: 3 cameras and a lock, and that's where the problems started. False alerts, connection failures, and whenever I urgently needed to check the cameras I'd get that classic "can't load the image right now" message, so I sold everything except my lock, not because I liked it but because it's not something I can just remove like the cameras, and I'm definitely not spending money on another model or brand until I find one that actually works.

And that's why I'm here to warn you: DON'T BUY EUFY. The hardware quality is good, but the software is the problem, and just yesterday it decided to fail right as I got home and realized I'd forgotten my keys, losing connection while the code wouldn't work either (and no, I didn't mess it up, I have it written down), all at 8pm. After several attempts to restart everything nothing worked, so I gave up and called a locksmith. Eufy, you owe me $250.

Anyway, maybe I'm being a bit dramatic about this kind of thing, but I think this is the right forum for it since we're not your average end user, and this brand and its decision to close off its ecosystem clearly weren't designed with us in mind. Bottom line, my only goal here is to warn you, especially if you're new to HA and thinking about integrating Eufy. DON'T DO IT!

I'm here to warn you.
