Student Loan Question

I’m staring UVIC this year as a third year BA student, and I had a question about loans!

I applied months ago and got approved etc, everything looks like it will go good, but does anyone know how funds get deposited? Like do they just go straight into my bank account? I need access to them because I’m using them mostly to cover costs of textbooks and to pay my rent, but for some reason I can’t find an actual answer anywhere. If so, do I need to open up a separate bank account for them/what account will they deposit in?

Ive never had to take out a student loan before so it’s all new to me. Any answers are appreciated!
