“Oh.” Sam said, his voice measured. There was a long, empty pause, and for a moment it seemed that Jen was hoping the mirror would swallow them both up.

“I’m not mad, Jen," he added, a note of reassurance in his voice. "It happens. I trust you.” Jen exhaled in relief, and Sam gave her a reassuring kiss on the cheek.

"So...." he added, his voice awkward again. "Are you....seeing him again?"
