Traveling overseas to visit family
Hi all. My dad was recently diagnosed (in July) with Alzheimer’s, he’s in the mild to moderate stage, I believe they said he’s between stage 3 and 4 right now.
Both of my parents are Turkish and my dad’s sister lives in Türkiye. My dad’s sister has been insisting he come visit, she’s been saying it’ll be so good for him, especially because he just had a driving evaluation that didn’t go well and he has to surrender his driver’s license and he doesn’t need a car to get around there.
My mom wants to go with him to Türkiye in the next few months (likely in January) and stay for 6 to 8 weeks. They’d be flying from Texas, so it’s a long airplane ride. They’d be able to visit my dad’s sister and his nieces too. I’m concerned it won’t be as beneficial as they’re thinking but I was hoping for some insight; since he is still in the early stages, maybe it would be good?
