It’s official: we broke up

venting/ranting

I posted a few weeks ago about how my boyfriend of 2 years broke up with me all of a sudden. A week after that, he asked to try and work things out again. Well, just today, I found that maybe it was better to really just break up. We talked and I was able to ask him fully what made him decide about the break up. These were his reasons:
Basically, our wavelengths are not the same. Our humor was different. He was more quick with understanding things and I apparently needed more time to process them. He said he could not work with that in the future with bigger problems.
When I asked him what was the reason he wanted to continue fighting for our relationship, he said that I was nice, genuine, and supportive. Someone so different from his previous toxic relationships.
Needless to say, I was disappointed. It felt like 90% of his views of me were just full of my own flaws. Though he did say, it was a 50/50 decision between the pros and cons. It wasn’t enough for me.
We talked it out. I told him hearing all that felt heavy for me. In fact, it was enough for me to tell him that it would be better for us to grow individually. Because I knew the things he had said were already predicting the end of our relationship.
In the end, we ended mutually. Closing our own chapter.
It’s a bittersweet feeling. It’s sad that we ended despite the happy memories. But at the same time, I feel relieved that I don’t have to look back anymore. Finally being myself again :)
