I don’t know why the hell fandoms are like this. Whenever a show runs itself into the ground people become sick of it and just want to see it end, which is fair. Whenever a show ends exactly on its creator’s terms, people start coping. It happened with Gravity Falls, I swear so many people think it got cancelled when really the story that Alex Hirch made for it wrapped up and there was no more to tell.

Some shows are entertainment for audiences meant to go on for years and years no matter how much they drop in quality. They have a story, that story gets wrapped up, then they do a new story because the show is popular and they want to keep the train going.

Some shows are simply a story that its creator wants to tell. Gravity Falls, TADC, and of course Murder Drones. Hirch ended Gravity Falls because he told the story he wanted to tell, same with Goose and TADC, same with Liam and MD. They are grateful for the fans for loving their work(when those fans are actually kind anyway *Stares at TADC*) but the thing they are most grateful for is the fact they were able to tell that story at all. The opportunity to put their work out there and let the world see it.

Not that the fans mean nothing to them, far from it. Murder Drones probably never would have happened without fan support and merch sales, and Liam owed us for all the support we gave his little show about robots that kill each other. Season 1 was what we were owed, and he gave that to us, so why are we demanding more? They said it themselves two years ago, no season 2, so why are we demanding it from Glitch? From Liam? Why are we not trusting their word? Was it because the ending didn’t land for a lot of people? Was it because it left several plot threads open and left questions unanswered? Those are valid criticisms but then what? Do we just want season 2 to fix the problems of season 1, or do we want it to be an actual story that recaptures the magic the first season had?

That’s the thing about season 2. If it ever does happen, it has to be good. It can’t just be a reaction to our demands and complaints, it has to be a good story, and if Liam feels like he can’t do that then he doesn’t have to, he already did what he set out to do with season 1. That’s why I hate posts like this, they’re so immature. Just spamming “its over” an absurd number of times, I don’t care if it’s a joke because it doesn’t read like it, at least give it a different tag to show you’re being ironic. I’m glad the comments are being reasonable at least and rightfully pointing out that yeah, it’s been over for two years.

Personally, I’m content, because Glitch still loves this fandom and doesn’t want it to die and look at everything we’ve gotten since then. An official music video collab with the Living Tombstone(none of the other shows have that), its the first and only Glitch show to be on Prime Video(the closest the other shows have to that is TADC on Netflix and even then I’d say they got a better bargain with MD on Prime), it got a whole prequel mini episode for one of its merch drops(again, more than the other shows got for its merch), and now it has a freaking Blu-Ray release with a ton of goodies(again, first one to do it, even if I’m not a fan of the FOMO). We’re even getting the official script in a book, how sick is that? The only other show to get that kind of love is TADC, with it getting into Fortnite and even a movie(which was really just the last two episodes of the show lets be frank) as well as Netflix of course, but that show blew up to incomprehensible levels of popularity so yeah it makes sense. People wanted more Doll merch, they gave us more Doll merch, people weren’t happy with J, they gave a prequel that features the single best J moment in the entire series (*”I WANNA KNOW WHAT LOVE IIIIIIIIIISSS-“)*. they still care, they’re just also respecting Liam’s wishes by not making a season 2 without him.

Apologies for this being so long. I intend it to be shorter but I just ended up ranting. I needed to get this off my chest. There should be like a rant tag or something(don’t actually do that it would get abused)

Also, side thing, why do people slam Glitch for always doing merch drops? I get why people don’t like some of their practices regarding the merch(the blind boxes and FOMO for the Blu-Ray are the ones I agree with) but I’ve seen people complain about the *frequency* of merch and that just baffles me. They’re an indie studio, the merch is their biggest source of revenue, Murder Drones literally wouldn’t have happened if we didn’t buy the merch.

(Rant) God this fandom can be insufferable sometimes.
