What handheld should I buy?

Looking to grab a vertical handheld mainly just to run through a bunch of Pokémon rom hacks and fan games, plus regular GBA and DS stuff.

Im open to other handhelds that are vertical ones. So far I have been looking around and like the Retroid Pocket Classic. Any suggestions would be great.
