[Chrome, Beta] Looking for testers who will tell me the moment they stopped using it
Unvent is a free Chrome extension I built. You press ctrl+shift+u in any text field and it shows the message you're writing in three tones side by side (polished, direct, warm), you pick one, it replaces your text in place. There's also a dictation mode where the speech to text runs on your device.
The honest reason I'm here rather than posting a launch announcement: I finally looked at my numbers properly this week. Everyone who signs in does use it, nine out of nine. But eight of those nine used it on exactly one day and never came back. So what I need is not more installs, it's someone who will tell me where it stops being worth opening.
What I'm asking for is a bit more than a normal test:
- use it for a few days on real messages, not a demo sentence
- when you notice you have stopped reaching for it, tell me what you were doing at that moment
- if a rewrite comes back wrong, that is the most useful thing you can send me, more useful than anything that worked
Worth knowing before you try it: your drafts are never stored, logged, or used for training, and that one is enforced by tests rather than by a paragraph in a privacy page. It is free, there is a daily cap on the free tier, and nothing is purchasable right now.
I'm the person who made it: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/unvent/dhonpmgedingifdgnjjajhmbcgjfddbn
Happy to answer anything about how the tones are defined or how the on-device dictation works.
