Game shows discussion- what are your thoughts?

Wanted to make a fun post about the different game shows featured on royal carribean and talk about our favorite and least favorite ones.

This is one of our favorite elements of cruising so wanted to see other people’s perspectives:

Price is Right- I think it’s cool how everyone can participate even if you don’t get called up on stage. However, I really wish they had physical props and they included 1 more opportunity to get up on stage(I believe they currently only play 3 rounds, besides the wheel spin).

Crazy Quest- I think the way it’s ran is so cruise director dependent. Sometimes, they lean into the challenges way more and sometimes they kind of coast through it. Also, i think they could do with switching up the game a bit only because as someone that is loyal to royal, the game has been mostly the same for the past decade.

Rock the Room- Underrated icon- I think as a music lover this is the best game show on the ships. However, my favorite format of it is when they split the room and have two team captains, but then the audience can participate to help out with answering the questions.

Majority rules- I like it, I think there is a lot of spontaneity with this one even though I don’t go to this event as often.

Royal trivia live- Excellent addition, as I feel like in the age of being able to look up answers for trivia questions, this helps to have authentic winners for trivia. I think honestly they should expand this more, and start to do it for other trivias as well(as it’s very pop culture/music themed currently).

Finish the Lyrics- A solid staple, but they should modernize the catalogue. They tend to repeat a lot of the songs(abba, queen, etc).

Special mentions:

Musical chairs, I’ve never seen this on any other ship other than Jewel of the Seas that we did a couple of years ago. This was by far one of the most entertaining games to watch and I think it works really well on the smaller ships. However, I feel like they could do this on the newer ships as well.

Sink or Splash Trivia: I don’t know if this is the right name, but on Star of the Seas back in March, they had a trivia game where it was hosted in the aqua theater, and if you got the question wrong you got splashed by the aqua effects in the theater. I felt like this was a really creative idea and should be expanded to other ships.

I would say across the board, my wish is for all game shows to just have larger venues. Most of them should be taking place not in spotlight karaoke, because I feel like everyone should be able to find a seat to watch and enjoy with a drink.
