[KCD2] Splash screen freeze on game launch

Hi,

I’ve got some issue where when trying to actually play the game, before menus or anything, the little splash screen that pops up when you press play from Steam just sits there and the game doesn’t respond. This happened after I first installed, so I verified the files and then the game started normally and I got through the prologue, but now the game won’t launch past the splash screen.

I‘m on top tier pc hardware, I don’t have technical issues with any other games, I’ve redownloaded c++ distributable, i have launched steam in admin mode, i have verified the game’s install files. the one thing I haven’t done and that I wont do is move the game from D to C, no other games require this and as cool as the prologue was, I don’t want to go through the hassle.

Any ideas here? Thanks in advance.
