University status and accent

My parents have an issue with the guy I like because they think he’s “below my level.” I’m studying at NUST and did A Levels, while he’s at Iqra University and did Intermediate. He’s also not great at English and has a different accent, which my parents judge a lot.
The thing is, I genuinely don’t care about any of that. He’s a good person and meets what I personally want in a partner. He knows academics aren’t his strength and plans on going into business/e-commerce instead.
My parents have said things like, “Is this really your level/status?” and it honestly makes me feel terrible and confused.
Has anyone been in a similar situation? In the long run, do differences in education, university, English/accent, etc. actually matter in a relationship/marriage?
