KTM 350 Adv Test Ride
Hi,
I took test ride of KTM 350 Adv today and had two observations I wanted to get validated by owners or others who have also taken test rides.
- Engine heating: I probably rode it for 8-10 mins and the engine was quite hot at the end of it. I noticed the coolant was at it's minimum and most likely there were others who also took test rides of the bike before me. I wanted to know if others had same experiences and if owners can comment if proper maintenance and single handed use also results in engine heating this quickly or not.
- I only felt vibrations on the handlebar. Footpegs and body panels were fine IMO. I've heard online reviewers say the reduce after first service. Again, it'll be great of owners can validate.
And if it helps others, my take on the bike after a short spin, it is very easy to handle and ride around in traffic, specially compared to Himalayan 450. Much more lively an engine, as compared to the Triumph 350s, and vibrations were only limited to handlebar. Also, contrary to what I heard online, I felt the bottom end was just fine. It does come alive in the later ranges, but low end is also fine. Didin't stall it even once. The crawl assist worked till the 3rd gear, at 4th there was significant knocking. Braking felt good. Suspension wise no complaints, but honestly didn't really get to test it apart from a few potholes and bumps.
The only negative was the engine heating. I feel the low coolant level and repeated test rides could be a reason, but wanted to confirm.
Thanks.
